Tour Itinerary:

Day One: Prague – Check-In and Sightseeing:

After arrival and check-in, we’ll gather in the hotel reception just before midday to set out on a three-hour introductory walking tour of Prague with a professional local guide. This is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the city’s history, architecture, and atmosphere. In the evening, we’ll reunite for a welcome dinner and orientation, marking the beginning of our journey together.

Day Two: Prague – Kutna Hora 65 km.

As we journey through vibrant villages and expansive meadows, we’ll arrive in the captivating town of Kutná Hora, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once a formidable rival to Prague in the 15th century, this medieval gem flourished through its rich silver mines and thriving minting industry—so much so that the word “dollar” traces its origins back to the “tolars” produced here. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a guided exploration of the town, including a visit to the magnificent Cathedral of St. Barbara, set proudly at the heart of Kutná Hora. This experience offers a deeper connection to the region’s history, architecture, and enduring charm.

Day Three: Kutná Hora to Humpolec – 71 km.

Following a day immersed in sweeping countryside and ever-changing landscapes, we’ll arrive in the charming town of Humpolec, our home for the evening. Historically a hub for silver mining and later the textile industry, Humpolec offers a rich glimpse into the region’s industrial past. The town is also home to one of the Czech Republic’s last traditional breweries, where beer is still crafted using unpasteurised methods. This dedication to heritage brewing is something the locals take great pride in many claiming it to be the finest beer in the world. This evening, you’ll have the opportunity to sample it for yourself, with a glass of the renowned Bernard beer in hand.

Day Four: Humpolec - Telc 60 km.

Today’s ride leads us to the stunning 13th-century town of Telč, a place that feels as though it has been preserved in time. With its beautifully maintained Renaissance architecture and picturesque setting, Telč offers one of the most enchanting townscapes in the country. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of the exquisite local château, gaining insight into the region’s rich history and noble heritage. As evening falls, you’ll have time at leisure to wander the elegant main square, where colourful façades frame a collection of inviting cafés and restaurants. It’s the perfect setting to relax and soak in the atmosphere—perhaps with a local beer or a glass of wine in hand.

Day Five: Telc - Nová Bystřice via Slavonice 56 km.

After time spent exploring this vibrant historic town, we’ll continue our journey along quiet country roads, winding through gently rolling, unspoiled countryside often referred to as “Czech Canada” for its natural beauty and sense of seclusion. As we ride along these scenic routes—lined with apple, birch, and cherry trees the landscape opens up in a way that feels both peaceful and timeless.

Our day concludes in Nová Bystřice, a small and enchanting town where life moves at a slower pace. With the Austrian border just three kilometres away, you may wish to enjoy a short afternoon ride across the frontier—adding a unique touch to an already memorable day.

Day Six: Nova Bystrice to Trebon via Jindrichuv Hradec 60 km.

After a brief farewell stroll through Nova Bystrice, we will head northeast along winding back roads, passing through charming hamlets and some of Europe’s oldest nature reserves, established in the 1800s. The terrain gradually flattens as we enter a wooded area rich with sparkling lakes, originally created for fish farming (mainly carp and trout) as early as the 1500s. Our destination is Trebon, a town dating back to the 11th century, historically renowned for its fishing industry.

In the afternoon, before we gather for dinner, you can explore this picturesque and easily navigable town, visit the lovely Renaissance chateau gardens, and perhaps enjoy a beer at the town’s 16th-century Regent brewery.

Day Seven: Trebon to Ceske Budejovice 67 km.

Today, we’ll make our way to České Budějovice, the charming provincial capital of southern Bohemia and the birthplace of the original Budvar (Budweiser) beer. Rich in history and character, this vibrant town offers a wonderful blend of cultural heritage and local tradition.

During our visit, we’ll enjoy a tour of the renowned brewery, gaining insight into the time-honoured craft behind one of the region’s most iconic beers. We’ll also take time to explore the town’s impressive main square, where elegant Baroque and Renaissance architecture creates a striking and memorable setting.

Day Eight: Ceske Budejovice to Česky Krumlov 69 km.

Our cycling adventure today takes us through gentle foothills, where sweeping views of the Šumava Mountains unfold in the distance. Along the way, we’ll pass the country’s most significant monastery, Zlatá Koruna, a place steeped in history and quiet beauty.

From here, we continue on toward Český Krumlov, a medieval town of remarkable charm and a UNESCO World Heritage site. With its winding lanes, riverside setting, and beautifully preserved architecture, it provides a truly memorable setting to conclude the day’s ride.

Day Nine: Day Off in Česky Krumlov.

There’s no other town quite like Český Krumlov. Once positioned along the main trading route between Bavaria and Italy, its rich history and unmistakable charm are evident at every turn.

This evening, we’ll come together to enjoy dinner before taking a leisurely stroll through the town’s enchanting streets. With its storybook setting and timeless atmosphere, Český Krumlov offers a truly memorable place to relax and spend the night.

Day Ten: Breakfast and Departure to Prague.

This morning, a shuttle service will be available to transfer you to the airport for your onward journey. After days filled with unforgettable rides, rich culture, and shared experiences, it’s time to bid farewell.

As our journey comes to a close, we hope you leave with lasting memories of the landscapes explored, the friendships formed, and the unique spirit of the Czech Republic. Thank you for joining us—we’ve truly enjoyed sharing this experience with you, and we look forward to welcoming you on another adventure in the future. Safe travels home.
